A good high pressure washer car washer also known as pressure washer is characterised by its type of motor, pump, pressure and waterflow. The basic models have ordinary or 2-pole 2800 rpm motors with aluminium wiring. They use aluminium or steel pumps. - Pressure: The pressure of a good car washer should be 100 bar to 150 bar. The should be sufficient enough to clean all the dirt, grime and tough stains on the vehicle.
- Flow Rate: The car washer should throw sufficint water at high pressure to clean the car. Normally a good car washer should have a flow rate of more than 6.5 litre per minute.
- Type of motor: Many car washers come with carbon brush motor, These motors can not work continuously for more than 15 to 2o minutes. Also the motors with aluminium wire winding are not suggested, Though such car washers are cheaper, but their performance is not good and also their life is short. So a good car washer must have an induction motor with copper winding. These motors give very good performance, do not heat up and they are long life.
- Motor Power: The motor power of the pressure washer influences its overall performance. A higher wattage or horsepower motor generally provides more power and better cleaning capability. However, balance the motor power with other factors like pressure and flow rate to ensure an effective and efficient machine. Normally the motor should be of 1500 to 2000 watt.
- Type of pump: In market variuous pumps are used in car washer like aluminium, steel and brass pump. The aluminium pump has least life and worst performance. Steel pumps are little better and good for home use car washers. Brass triplex pumps with ceramic coated pistons are the best pumps that are used in commercial and industrial grade pressure washers.
